Real-time Visual 3D Game Development System

RIDE evolved out of building a proprietary interactive development system for Ronin Entertainment’s internal projects. The primary goal was to improve game-making productivity, streamline the game development process and give the creative team members a real-time production path. This goal has been achieved with the current RIDE.

RIDE creates a development environment which allows the creative people, such as designers, artists and level/mission designers/programmers, to implement game elements including game-play, user-interface and art in real-time. Thereby keeping their primary focus on creating the actual game content without waiting for technology. In parallel, it furthers the technologists and programmers to focus on building new and specific technology for the targeted game platforms and genres.

  1. RONIN GAME++ VISUAL DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT

  2. Visual development environment allowing designers, artists, and level/mission designers/programmers real-time implementation of the game. It is an extensible and flexible development shell with a proprietary visual scripting system which can link to any game engine or system. Some of its components provide full data support, DirectInput, DirectSound, DirectPlay and Ronin 3D Engine.

Sophisticated 3D Engine supporting all major 3D accelerator cards; full Direct3D/DirectX support; advanced lighting and shadowing techniques; multi-texturing effects e.g. environment maps and detail texturing; state-of-the-art animation techniques using quartenion interpolation; single-skin deformations; advanced use of fogging for volumetric fog/clouds and mist effects; variety of blending and transparency options, anti-aliasing and advanced filtering e.g. trilinear and anisotropic; advanced usage of Direct3D features like vertex buffers.
    RIDE supports software development for any game genre such as Action, Adventure, Puzzle, RPG and Strategy.

  6. Exports models and textures from 3D Studio Max into Visual GAME++ Development Environment.

  7. RONIN DATA EDITOR

  8. Places property data into 3D Studio Max models.

  9. RONIN STUDIO

  10. Exports, edits and displays 3D models, textures and animation from Nichimen’s Game Exchange 2 and 3D Studio Max.
